QQ: Lady Carol
Fullmooners favourite answers the Quick Quiz
You, like me, may know Lady Carol best for her regular appearances at Andrew Maxwell's late night comedy shindig 'Fullmooners'. But this year she has her own show, 'Tomorrow Is My Turn', playing nightly at the Pleasance Courtyard. We saw her at the Brighton Fringe back in May and promptly awarded her mixture of songs and stories a 5/5 rating, remarking "Lady Carol oozes charisma and fun with a stunning but beautifully strange voice".
Ahead of her Edinburgh appearance, the Lady answers our Quick Quiz questions.
Q1: What is your 2009 show all about?
It's an hour of songs and stories. It's essentially an account of myself and things I like, and involves in no particular order: two evening gowns, songs by Nirvana, Kate Bush and Queen, a ukulele and a lot of lipstick.
Q2: Why should we come and see it?
I don't know how to answer that! If you come and see my show I will perform it with all of my heart and do my very best to entertain and distract you…I promise!
Q3: If your show was a superhero, what would his or her super power be?
She would probably have the ability to muddle.
Q4: What are you most looking forward to about this year's Edinburgh Festival?
Seeing my lovely friends doing what they were made to do. It's a bit like receiving a highly entertaining round robin!
Q5: What are you least looking forward to about this year's Edinburgh Festival?
The 'maddening' that usually occurs about three weeks in, which is caused by lack of sleep and too much thinking about yourself!
Q6: What advice would you give to an audience member coming to the Fringe for the first time?
Bring rain gear to keep you dry, a fan to keep you cool, and your curiosity.
Q7: Other than your own show, what's your hot show tip for Edinburgh 2009?
Nick Doody's show 'Schizo' or Carey Marx's 'The Doom Gloom Boom'.
Q8: Describe your show in three words
It's my show.
