Robin Norton-Hale, Assitant Director of 'Cloudcuckooland', does the Quick Quiz
1. What is your 2008 show all about?
The Birds are fed-up of people messing up the planet, so they bring humanity to its knees through the strategic use of bird poo. Seven performers play ten different bird characters, twelve different instruments and the parts of Richard Branson, Victoria Beckham and Gordon Brown.
2. Why should we come and see it?
It's silly, clever, chaotic and good for the planet. And there's a song called 'White Streaks On The White House'.
3. If your show was an olympic sport, what would it be and why?
Competitive 'quick-changing-while-wearing-a-beak, on-stilts, instrument juggling, while singing fiendishly difficult harmonies, and making it all look easy'. I know, it's more of a mouthful than 'the long jump', but much more fun to watch.
4. What are you most looking forward to about this year's Festival?
Having a calm, healthy month where we do yoga, eat raw vegetables, and get to bed by 9pm every night.
5. What are you least looking forward to about this year's Festival?
The inevitable sleep deprivation.
6. What advice would you have for someone trying to navigate the Fringe?
Bring a map, some alka seltzer, a lot of stock-piled sleep, and be prepared to end up watching shows you didn't plan to.
7. What advice would you have for someone trying to survive the Fringe?
Bring a map, some alka seltzer, a lot of stock-piled sleep, and try not to end up performing in shows you didn't plan to.
8. Describe your show in three words
Bird-poo saves world! (can bird-poo be one word?)
