David Benson answers the ThreeWeeks Quick Quiz
1. What is your 2008 show all about?
It's like a party at which I sing Noel Coward's brilliant songs for an hour. I actively encourage singing-along!
2. Why should we come and see it?
I have known and loved these songs since I was 12 - and I know how to do them properly. I promise an hour during which you will totally forget about the outside world. It's like a kind of very witty and dryly sentimental therapy.
3. If your show was an olympic sport, what would it be and why?
I cannot understand why Cabaret is not allowed as an Olympic event. So I'll plump for the Nude Wrestling, because I like the thought of it.
4. What are you most looking forward to about this year's Festival?
Seeing all those friends you ONLY see once a year at the Fringe; having fun with my audiences; and swanning around saying, 'Of course, I'm a director now you know. Have you seen my show My Grandfather's Great War at the Baby Belly?'
5. What are you least looking forward to about this year's Festival?
Spending all that lovely money.
6. What advice would you have for someone trying to navigate the Fringe?
Am I supposed to say, "Get Three Weeks - Your indispensable guide to the Fringe!" or something?
7. What advice would you have for someone trying to survive the Fringe?
Two things to remember: "Aren't we lucky to be here?" and "This won't go on forever."
8. Describe your show in three words.
Utterly enchanting, darling!
