Inder Manocha - Unpronounceable
Inder Manocha
"Tikka Masala multiculturalism" is not the most digestible of phrases, but with a spicy dash of Inder Manocha, it perfectly captures Britain's infatuation with ethnic integration. Elaborate and engaging, this is a perceptively witty show loosely based on society's inability to pronounce our host's name. Unashamedly flamboyant, Inder's a fluid performer who thrives on the insecurity of the audience, tackling racism with the contempt it deserves, and conjuring up a belly of laughs with his sharp-shooting cultural observations. In defusing the volatility of the topic, however, Manocha's vibrant spark can be lost to an uncomfortable gaggle of cheap laughs, but when his feisty spirit is fully unleashed, this is one of the hottest platefuls around.
